Hello, I'm Duané Steyn
Owner and Founder of Curious Cubs

I'm the creator of Curious Cubs, a small family-run business based in New Zealand. As a South African mum of two young boys, I've always been passionate about learning through play and creating meaningful learning opportunities for children. After moving to New Zealand, one of my biggest goals was to keep Afrikaans alive in our home and help my children grow up speaking, understanding, and enjoying both Afrikaans and English. As I searched for educational resources, I quickly discovered that there were very few Afrikaans learning materials available. So I began creating my own. What started as a way to support my own children's learning and language journey soon grew into Curious Cubs — a collection of printable educational resources designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and make learning fun. At Curious Cubs, you'll find a variety of resources including flashcards, worksheets, games, information cards, posters, crafts, and themed activity packs. Many of these resources are available in both Afrikaans and English, making them perfect for bilingual families, educators, homeschoolers, and anyone who believes learning should be engaging and accessible. I believe children learn best when they are actively involved, exploring, discovering, and having fun. That's why I focus on creating hands-on resources that can be used in different ways and enjoyed by children as they grow and develop. Every product is created with care, tested by my own children, and designed to help families spend more time learning, playing, and creating memories together.
